பாகீரதி - பாகம் 1 : நீர் என்னும் அமிழ்தம் (The Nectar)

      இந்தப் பிரபஞ்சம் பஞ்ச பூதங்களால் ஆனது. இந்த ஐந்து பூதங்களில், நீர் நம் மனதுக்கு மிகவும் நெருக்கமானது என்று சொன்னால் மிகையாகாது. சாரலில் நனையும் பொழுதும், நீரோடையில் கால்களை நனைக்கும் பொழுதும், நா வறண்ட நேரம் நீரை அருந்தும் பொழுதும், மழைமேகம் இந்த விண்ணை சூழ்ந்து கொள்வதை காணும் பொழுதும் ஐம்புலன்கள் மட்டுமின்றி உயிரும், உள்ளமும் குளிரத் தான் செய்கிறது. அறிவியலின் கூற்றுப்படி, இந்த பிரபஞ்சம் பருப்பொருட்களால் ஆனது. பருப்பொருட்கள் மூலக்கூறுகளாலும், மூலக்கூறுகள் அணுக்களாலும் ஆனவை. நம் புராண கூற்றுக்களின் படி, இந்த பௌதீக (கண்களால் பார்க்ககூடிய) பிரபஞ்சம் முழுவதும் ஆயிரம் ஆயிரம் அண்டங்களால் நிறைந்ததும், இவை அனைத்தும் நம் கண்களுக்கெல்லாம் புலப்படாத, சூட்சும(கண்களுக்கு புலப்படாத) காரண சமுத்திரத்தின் உள் அடங்கியுள்ளது.  ஸ்ரீமன் நாராயணன் இந்த சமுத்திரத்தில் தான் பள்ளி கொண்டு இருக்கிறார். ஒரு முறை அவர்  மூச்சை விடும் போது, ஆயிரம் ஆயிரம் அண்டங்கள் குமிழிகள் போல பிறக்கின்றன. மூச்சை இழுத்துக்கொண்டாலோ அனைத்தும் அவருக்குள்ளேயே ஒடுங்கி விடுகின்றன. 

இதற்கு தெளிவான எடுத்துக்காட்டை சொல்ல வேண்டும் என்றால், சிறுபிள்ளைகள்  சோப்பு நீரில் மொட்டுக்கள் ஊதி விளையாடுவதை பார்த்திருப்போம். காற்றை ஊதும்போது எண்ணற்ற குமிழிகள் உருவாகி காற்றில் மிதக்கும். அதில் உள்ள ஒவ்வொரு குமிழியும் ஒவ்வொரு அண்டத்தை போல. ஒவ்வொரு அண்டத்திற்கும் ஒரு பிரம்மதேவர் பிரம்மத்தால் படைக்க படுகிறார். பரமாத்மாவிடம் இருந்து பிறக்கும் உயர்ந்த முதல் ஆத்மா அவரே. தேவர் முதல் கடைசி ஜீவராசி வரை அவரிடம் இருந்தே படைக்கப்படுகின்றோம். 

    

      இந்த ப்ரபஞ்சங்களுக்கு காரணமான, இந்த காரண சமுத்திரத்தை பற்றி யோசித்த பொழுது தான் நம்முடைய மண்ணை நனைத்து கொண்டு இருக்கும் கங்கையின் நினைவும் வந்தது. தாய் கங்கை யார்? எப்படி இந்த மண்ணுக்கு வந்தாள்? என்ற கேள்விகளுக்கான பதில் சொல்லும் கதைகளும் என் நினைவுக்கு வந்தன.

This universe is made up of the five elements. Among these five elements, it would not be an exaggeration to say that water is the one closest to our minds. When we get drenched in a drizzle, when we dip our feet in a flowing stream, when we drink water during moments of thirst, or when we watch rain clouds surround the sky — not only our five senses, but our very life and heart feel refreshed and cooled.

According to science, this universe is made up of matter. Matter is composed of molecules, and molecules are made up of atoms. According to our Puranas, this physical (visible) universe is filled with thousands upon thousands of cosmic worlds (universes). All of these exist within a subtle, causal ocean that is invisible to our eyes.

Lord Sriman Narayana rests in this cosmic ocean. When He exhales, thousands of universes are born like bubbles. When He inhales, all of them dissolve back into Him. To give a simple example, we have seen children blowing soap bubbles while playing. When they blow air, countless bubbles form and float in the air. Each bubble is like a universe.

For every universe, a Brahma is created by Brahman. He is the first soul born from the Supreme Soul — the highest soul. From him, all beings, from gods to the smallest living creatures, are created.

When I thought about this causal ocean, which is the source of all universes, I was reminded of the Ganga that moistens our land. Who is Mother Ganga? How did she come to this earth? Stories that answer these questions also came to my mind.
